L5 S1 tumor

My name is Donna. 63 yrs. I have 5 cervical fusions, 2 rods & cage and 4 lumbar fusions. In Feb, I dropped 25 lbs without trying. Pain in my right hip began and continued to worsen. Then severe burning started thru my lower buttock and ran thru crotch are causing burning pain with urination & bowels, during the night I pee about every 2 hours.. The burning pain is supordic. It comes on suddenily. Never know when it’s gona hit but as a rule it’s worse in evening. Oxy 5’s take awhile to kick in. I finally convinced my doc to do MRI of pelvic area. I have 4 cracks and a “SPOT” at the L5 S1. 2 radiologist & my neurosurgeon are sending me to oncologist for biopsy. They won’t fill the cracks until I have the spot biopsy on Jan 4. Other than the articles I’ve read that’s all I know. It measures 3/4” and appears to run down and it’s on the right side. Needless to say, what I’ve read is not encouraging!! Being a high anxiety person, I am horrified as I have all the symptoms! Any other info you can share would be helpful. I just needed to vent! Thanks for listening.

    Hello donnabob!
    Welcome to Spine-Health

I' m so sorry you are having to go through this. Researching can have it's benefits for getting questions together for your doctors but at the same time also comes the bad.
I just went through a cancer scare with my 52 yr. old daughter They had found a spot on her lungs and lymph nodes. She did not want to know anything I had looked up or advice from a friend. Finally she gave in and wrote down the questions in case it back cancer. It is not cancer but a fungus. By saying that, get your questions together in case.
