Spinal Leak

The doctor left a bone fragment that punctured the dural and caused a bad spinal leak. The first surgery was outpatient, and the second required a six day hospital stay. Does anyone know if this was a mistake by the doctor to leave this bone fragment?

  • Wed, That’s a question for another MD to answer. If the original Surgeon knew there was a bone fragment and it was the cause of the tearing of the dural, the answer is quite obvious. But again, that’s a question for another surgeon to answer!
